There are a number of different remedies for acid reflux, but it really depends on why you are having a problem with acid reflux in the first place as to which of these remedies you are going to use. One thing that you can do which will quickly get rid of acid reflux when you have a problem with it is to drink some apple cider vinegar. This is very difficult for many people, particularly because of the strong taste of apple cider vinegar. If you put it on a spoon, and put it far enough back in your mouth that you bypass your taste buds, you will not generally have difficulty swallowing it. You may even find that putting a little bit of apple cider vinegar in water on a daily basis can help to keep much of the heartburn problems that you are experiencing at bay.

Another one of the remedies for acid reflux is to make sure that you fully hydrate your body on a cellular level. Dehydration is a major problem with illnesses in the human body. You must make sure that you are drinking a minimum of half of your body weight every day in ounces of water. For every quart of water that you drink, take a pinch of sea salt and toss it on your tongue. This will help to make sure that it stays in your body long enough to hydrate your cellular structure. When you do this, your body will stop seeking water by other means, and you will notice that your heartburn disappears, along with many other problems that you may be experiencing.

Another one of the remedies for acid reflux is to avoid a lot of the triggers that may be causing the problem. Even though acid reflux is not caused by things such as overeating, spicy foods, smoking or drinking, they certainly can make the problem appear noticeable. When you begin eating smaller meals and avoiding any of the things that seem to cause the acid reflux to come up within your body, you are, in effect, getting rid of it. This is something that needs to be carried on for the rest of your life, however for it to work well.

Finally, you are probably going to hear that drinking a little bit of milk before you go to bed is going to be one of the better remedies for acid reflux. Although it may work for a little while, as milk does have a coating effect, it will probably cause you some acid reflux problems in the middle of the night. It would be better if you skip any type of food or drink, aside from clear water, within a few hours before bedtime instead of drinking milk.
